How hard is to imagine seeing this press release in the near future?
PRESS RELEASE
Coming to the city where you live:
Brainwashing camps, gulags, and asylums-
you know them as "The Universities"
We all know that professors are communists who are still living in the 1960's and didn't notice that the wall came down over a decade ago. We all know they spend hours upon hours weeding out any potential professors who don't think exactly like them and won't carry forward their Marxist, America-hating, sexually deviant agenda. But no longer can we laugh at them in their funny disheveled clothing and thank our lucky stars that we don't live in a "college town."
No, it is time that we stand up and ask: "What is happening to our children?" In his new book, Indoctrination U: The 50 Most Dangerous Campuses in America, David Horowitz gives us a frightening answer to that question. Horowitz shows us that the college and university curriculum has been "transformed into a program of indoctrination" and that the "active suppression of conservative ideas extends to extra-curricular speaking and activities programs." Even more shocking, Horowitz exposes the "ideological suppression conducted by faculty ideologues" and "the abusive treatment of conservative ideas and conservative students in the classroom itself."
Horowitz pulls together an avalanche of evidence drawn from course descriptions and syllabi representing at least 1/10,000 of the classes at these colleges and more importantly 1/1,000,000,000,000 of the classes taught nationwide. Reading Horowitz's newest exposé of higher education in this country will leave you wondering just how long before Osama bin Laden and Hugo Chavez are running our colleges and universities!
Crazy you say? Who would write something so outlandish and malicious?! Well, Horowitz of course-or at least in part-and let's not forget his wonderful publisher, Regnery. But is there really a new book coming?
Well, let's see what we have. Remember not too long ago, when certain faculty profiles started showing up over at Discover the Networks and then not too long after that we got Horowitz's book shoddy compilation of those profiles called The Professors? Remember Regnery's shocking promo calling professors, "terrorists, racists, murders, sexual deviants and communists"? Do you?
Well, here we go again. In the last week we have seen an "introduction" and four "installments" (read: chapters) by Horowitz of what he is calling "Indoctrination U." Each installment addresses a different university (rather than a different faculty member-clever, no?). We have already pointed out the absurdity of his "methodology" but are sure that DH won't let research standards get in his way. The real question is how many "installments" do Horowitz and Regnery need before they can publish a new book. We are betting on 50. You?
In the mean time, we'll keep working on the press release.
Big "hat tip" to Aaron Barlow over at One Flew East who pointed out the inevitability of this to me.
